Alan ‘The Whistle’ Kipping, known to others as ‘Sea Scout Alan’, began running Sandown Park Antique Fairs in 1986. Known for his love for detail, rare and beautiful objects and a passion for re-use Alan took these characteristics and turned them into a reliable and constant standard of good quality antique and vintage stock sold by a variety of experienced dealers under one roof. His expertise in Whistle Collecting and long experience of early morning rushes to secure the best pitches in markets all over the country gave him valuable insight into the world of Antique Fair organization. Our fairs run from mid morning to late afternoon the ultimate luxury for the gentleman dealer and the lady trader.
Sandown Park Antique and Vintage Fairs has now been running for 24 years. It is a family-run friendly fair, a treasure trove of social history and legacy – and a great place to pick up a bargain. It is held on Tuesdays and Sundays during the year at Sandown Park Race Course. It has 150 stands plus outside pitches. It offers a variety of rare and specialist items from all corners of the globe, for all types of tastes and styles. Our stallholders gather together to sell antiques, vintage, textiles, furniture, jewelry, glass, silver, crockery, collectables, treen and much more. None of these items are available anywhere else, not even online. It’s a unique shopping experience for collectors, bargain hunters and people in search of beautiful and different types of home ware, fashion, designer bygones and blasts from the past.
The sociable hours and friendly atmosphere contribute to the overall shopping experience. We even run a free bus from Esher station to the fair for maximum comfort and hassle free travel. The venue has food outlets where you can enjoy a leisurely lunch, cash points and Wi-Fi internet.
